JustSystems XMetaL Awarded as One of the Year’s Trend-Setting Products
AUGUST 22, 2011, VANCOUVER, B.C. – JustSystems, a worldwide leader in XML and information management technologies, today announced that XMetaL, the company’s XML-based software for structured authoring and content collaboration, has been awarded as one of KMWorld’s Trend-Setting Product of 2011.
JustSystems has been included in KMWorld’s Trend-Setting Product of the Year and the 100 Companies That Matter the Most lists in previous years. “We are pleased to be selected as part of KMWorld’s list. This selection reaffirms our vision to continually adopt technologies that enable people to share knowledge through data and content as effectively as possible”, says Tim Groeneveld, Vice President of Sales.
“Our customers and the industry at large want to leverage speed, cost, quality, and reuse advantages of structured authoring across the entire organization. And that’s exactly what XMetaL does.”
The Trend-Setting Product awards began in 2003. This year, more than 800 products were assessed by the judging panel, which consists of editorial colleagues, analysts, system integrators, vendors, line-of-business managers, and users.
“Although the products on the list cover a host of technology areas, they share one thing in common: Each has helped create, define, enhance or sustain a market,” says Hugh McKellar, Editor-in-Chief at KMWorld Magazine, “XMetaL has remained an active participant, innovator, and leader in the XML authoring and content collaboration community for years. This year, JustSystems XMetaL demonstrates clearly identifiable technology breakthroughs that serve the vendors’ full spectrum of constituencies, especially their customers.”
XMetaL has helped organizations including Tellabs, Citrix, Bombardier, Robert Bosch GmbH, CIBC World Markets, and Amazon.com, dramatically improve the quality and consistency of product and technical documentation, policies, procedures, and other published content, while improving reuse and reducing the time and cost of creation, localization, and maintenance. XMetaL uses industry standards including DITA, to enable creators to efficiently create, collaborate, and reuse information that can be repurposed into the languages and formats their customers demand. Used standalone, or integrated with any of several leading content management and publishing systems, XMetaL can be used by writers and reviewers even without XML knowledge.
