JustSystems and Mark Logic Technology Partnership Streamlines Financial Content Aggregation, Creation and Publishing
Technology Integration Enables Enterprises to Achieve XBRL Compliance
Mark Logic User Conference — SAN FRANCISCO and NEW YORK — May 13, 2009 —
JustSystems, the largest independent software vendor in Japan and a worldwide leader in XML and information management technologies, and
Mark Logic Corporation, provider of the industry’s leading XML server, today announced a technology partnership that will enable enterprise organizations to streamline data aggregation, content creation and publishing of financial reports using XBRL. Details of how the two companies are working together to move the XBRL standard forward were revealed at the
Mark Logic User Conference taking place at the
InterContinental Hotel in San Francisco from May 12 – 14, 2009.
Driven by XBRL compliance requirements set forth by the SEC and by the need to eliminate accounting errors and fraud, JustSystems and Mark Logic will offer customers an out-of-the-box technology integration that combines the power of
JustSystems xfy XBRL Report and
MarkLogic Server — providing easy, scalable access to XBRL content.
This flexible integration option allows enterprise organizations to effortlessly push complex financial XBRL content from MarkLogic Server to content applications built on the JustSystems xfy platform at any stage of a business workflow. Using this functionality, organizations can also easily analyze and create detailed financial reports from XBRL content and add XBRL-aware document management functionality to their existing MarkLogic Server deployments.
MarkLogic Server was designed specifically as a platform for building content applications that unlock the full value of your information. Leaders in information and media, government and other industries have all used MarkLogic Server as the platform for their mission critical, role- and task-aware content applications. MarkLogic Server helps organizations unlock their information through rich applications which meet users’ needs for findability.
JustSystems xfy XBRL Report lets users review and analyze XBRL data and share their results with others. To that end, xfy consumes XBRL, creating content that uses the XBRL data and publishes it in a web-ready HTML or PDF. Other users can view the published reports without any special software — just a standard web browser.
“To help organizations unlock the value of financial information stored in XBRL format, the integration provides the capabilities of the world’s leading XML Server for accessing financial data and a dynamic application server to deliver it,” said Jeff Faraday, director, alliances for Mark Logic Corporation. “Both JustSystems and Mark Logic products are based on XML technology that equips enterprise organizations with the functionality and flexibility needed to adapt quickly to ever-changing market conditions and requirements.”
“The pairing of the JustSystems xfy XBRL Report with MarkLogic Server provides organizations with the ability to build and deploy a next-generation, XBRL-based infrastructure and rapidly deploy XBRL-enhanced financial applications,” said Diane Mueller, vice president, XBRL development for JustSystems and vice chair,
XBRL International. “XBRL has the potential to greatly improve transparency and information access in ways never before imaginable, and JustSystems and Mark Logic share the common goal of driving XBRL adoption forward in the enterprise market. Current, accurate financial data is essential for companies that wish to maintain a positive reputation with their customers and for regulator agencies that need to audit and ensure the accuracy of that financial data.”
